Abundant Joy Fellowship Leadership
Abundant Joy Fellowship is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to the Lord, seeking His heart, and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bios of our leadership team.
Pastor Cathy Blythe
Senior Pastor
Cathy Blythe stepped into full time ministry in 1984 as the leader of the children's ministry at Dayspring Christian Center. Together, Cathy and her late husband, Pastor Greg, sowed into countless students as youth pastors and teachers, and in 1995 they became the leaders of the church. Cathy was installed as the Senior Pastor of Abundant Joy Fellowship in 2019.
Cathy has been called by the Lord to equip individuals to fulfill their God-given purpose and destiny. Cathy carries a strong gift of counseling, with a passion of bringing people into freedom. Cathy started out in children's ministry and still feels a great call to encourage and equip children. She has an anointing for teaching which she infuses with a lot of humor. She has a call to community and to families, and has an apostolic and prophetic call over our region. Cathy is a mother to three wonderful sons and three lovely daughters-in-law, with seven grandchildren, and counting!
Pastor Beau Key
Associate Pastor
Beau Key is the leader of SonBurn Encounters, a teaching and equipping ministry that has been partnering with Abundant Joy Fellowship since 2016. In 2020, Beau joined the pastoral staff at AJF with a heart to foster the growth and development of our community in alignment with the vision set before the church. His passion is to see each person fulfill their God-given purpose. Beau's mission is to walk out the great commission and to see it through to completion.
As a husband and father of two, Beau cares deeply about family health. After a lifelong battle with trauma consequences, addiction, and identity crisis, Beau's freedom in Christ has been a beacon of light leading others into that same freedom.
Ed Saxon
Elder
Ed Saxon has been serving as an elder at Abundant Joy Fellowship since it was created. Working closely with Greg and Cathy Blythe, and now Beau, has been and continues to be a pleasure and very gratifying to see the Lord move in their presence and hearts.
Ed is a husband to Laurie Jean for 43 years, a father to their 6 children, and a grandfather of 11, with the arrival of the latest grandson in October 2024.
In addition to serving as an elder at AJF, Ed has also been a Gideon for well over 20 years serving in the ministry as president of his local camp and a Church speaker, speaking at churches throughout western Pennsylvania.
Ed maintains that faith always gets stronger with age as one experiences the faithfulness, love, and grace of the Lord over time. His favorite scripture is Psalm 91, where he finds strength and confidence in his daily walk.
Darren Waldenville
Elder
Darren Waldenville has been a member of Abundant Joy Fellowship since 1992. As an elder, Darren's biggest goal is that each member of our congregation would truly know God and understand who they are in Him. While Darren is an elder at Abundant Joy, he is adamant that the only title that matters is Son. Darren knows and continues to pursue the heart of the Father as a beloved Son.
Darren is a proud husband to Heather, father to Tiffany, Karissa, and Seth, and grandfather to four lovely granddaughters. He enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and fishing. He can make a mean meal of ribs slow cooked over the campfire. Darren's favorite place to sit and soak in peace is someplace on the Clarion River.
Nathaniel Lanham
Elder
Nathaniel Lanham has been a part of the Abundant Joy family since 2021. He was recently accepted into church leadership as an Elder in 2024. Nathaniel has been helping to lead the church's men's group, David's Mighty Men, since 2023 and has a great interest in supporting the church's vision as it grows into the full maturity of its apostolic regional calling in the years ahead.
Nathaniel's career background is in consulting and advisory, and he finds that his experience working with and leading professionals translates really well through his involvement in church ministry. Nathaniel is passionate about home gatherings and feels that the move of God we are all hungry for today begins in the home. To be in a community worshiping and praying in one another's living rooms will, without a doubt, have a God-sized impact on the church buildings that we all gather at on Sunday mornings.
Nathaniel married into the Abundant Joy Fellowship family when he asked his bride, Melanie Lanham to be his wife on May 29, 2022. The "Newlyweds" have a total of six children between the two homes and literally live in two homes every other week, in both Pittsburgh, PA and Charleston, WV. The children are as follows, oldest to youngest. Ian, Jada, Ava, Adaiah, Mila, and Coralie. The unique living arrangement of part time in two states lends its potential to the family's regional calling both professionally and through ministry of reaching the region in Appalachia for Jesus.
Seth and Kristina Waldenville
Worship Leaders
Seth and Kristina Waldenville worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth. As worship leaders, their desire is to lead people in worship in a wholehearted manner, not for performance's sake, or to get results, but simply to worship Jesus because He is worthy. It's as simple as this: Seth and Kristina want to point people to Jesus, because He is all we need. We just need to keep our focus on Jesus - He is enough.
Seth and Kristina have been married since 2020. They love adventures and traveling, especially to go see family, or to head down to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia for a weekend. Seth has been a part of Abundant Joy/Dayspring since birth, and Kristina has been here since 2019. Seth is a carpenter and loves to make things with his hands. He is a musician and a songwriter, and recently became a member of the Abide Tribe Worship Collective. Kristina is currently an administrator, but also has a passion for teaching and mentoring children and youth.
Tim and Emily Lewis
Worship Leaders
Tim and Emily Lewis have been believers their whole lives. They were raised in Christian homes and continue to grow in their faith. To Tim and Emily, Jesus is everything. They strive to honor and worship Him in all they do. As worship leaders they want to cultivate the atmosphere for others to come into the realization that He's always present and waiting for us to lock eyes with Him. They encourage others to dive into worship and to steward His glory. Nothing is greater in this life than following Jesus and continuing to learn about Him and all He has for each of us.
Emily has loved the arts her whole life. She began playing and singing at a young age and also enjoys painting and creating pottery. While in college, she learned about the importance of stewarding her health and eating the way God designed us to. She became a certified health coach to help other singers be healthy so they can perform to the best of their ability.
Tim started playing the cello when he was eight years old and was immediately hooked. He was classically trained throughout high school and continued his music endeavors at college. Over the years, Tim has taken an interest in improvisation and live-looping as they offer more opportunity for freedom of expression and creativity. Tim frequently performs live gigs for various venues and thoroughly enjoys playing cello with the worship team at Abundant Joy Fellowship.
Another avenue of creativity for Tim is carpentry. Tim currently runs his own construction business and built a recording studio in his home. He is excited to use this space for recording music as well as podcasts. Tim is extremely thankful to walk this journey with his wife and three children, and he cannot help but recognize God's incredible grace in his life.
Tim and Emily both attended the University of Valley Forge for music degrees and both teach music lessons. They love stirring up a love for music and worship. Emily has directed choirs and helped numerous students with auditions for musicals, professional choirs, fine arts, and worship teams. Tim and Emily want to encourage the next generation to grow in their musical passion and gift.
Julie Kovalcik
Children's Ministry Leader
Julie Kovalcik has been a member of Abundant Joy Fellowship (formerly Dayspring Christian Center) since birth. She is a proud prodigal who surrendered and gave Jesus her forever YES over ten years ago. Julie is one of the leaders of our Children's Ministry and she occasionally serves on the worship team. Julie currently works for Conco Services as a travel administrator. Prior to that, she was an elementary school teacher.
Julie has two amazing children. Together, they are learning how to hear God's voice and walk in obedience to the Lord. Julie loves worshiping, connecting with God, connecting with people, and going on Jesus adventures with her family and church family. She can be found punching the enemy right in the face every single day with every opportunity that comes her way.
Erin Klimkowski
Children's Ministry Leader
Erin Klimkowski has been a member of Abundant Joy Fellowship since 2016. She is married to Alan and they have three beautiful children together. Once her first child was born she became a stay at home Mom and began a journey in children's photography. Newborn photography is her favorite because it's the freshest thing from Heaven that you can hold.
Erin remembers one Sunday morning when an announcement was made that they needed help with the children's ministry. She felt a burning and a passion to help. After giving her yes to Jesus, He ignited a passion that she thought was long gone. It was to teach children! Little did she know the children were going to teach her and help her grow in her journey with Jesus. They have taught her how to be bold and love with everything she's got! Erin believes each child is unique and beautiful. She loves teaching the children how to hear God's voice, feel His presence, and how to have fun with Jesus!
Kristina Waldenville
Office Administrator
Kristina Waldenville has been a member of Abundant Joy Fellowship since moving to PA in the summer of 2019. Prior to that, she was a missionary in various fields around the world and ultimately in Omaha, NE. Her favorite place she has lived (aside from Tarentum, of course!) was Malawi, in southern Africa. She often longs to return and be embraced once again in the warm heart of Africa.
Kristina took on the position of Office Administrator in the summer of 2024. Some of her favorite tasks include planning upcoming events, keeping our community informed of what's happening, anything to do with graphic design, and driving Pastor Cathy around as her assistant. What is Pastor Cathy's favorite phrase when giving directions? "Go straight until you don't!"
Kristina is passionate about hearing God's voice and encouraging others to do the same. You will often hear phrases like, "We can do hard things!" and "Thank you for sharing and being vulnerable," when you are with her. Kristina loves to listen, encourage, and go deep in relationships.
